What's New in Wickenburg???

The Town of Wickenburg is becoming more of a “Western” attraction for people who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Phoenix and the slightly cooler temperatures of Wickenburg.   In the past year there have been some significant improvements to the downtown area.

As visitors stroll through the downtown area, they can enjoy the 8 large western historic sculptures and the 16 small ones that were recently donated to The Town.  Each of these has a short narrative explaining some of the history of Wickenburg.  In addition, with the completion of the Bypass, and the new “Traffic Calmers” which are islands with trees and colorful bushes and plants, the downtown area is becoming a more desirable place to visit.

The newest addition to the Town is the Frederic Remington Bronze Statues.  There are four statues.  The two large ones were installed in the center of each of the roundabouts and the one of the smaller ones was installed at the East end of the pedestrian bridge, and another at the end of Sols Wash Bridge.

Not only is the town of Wickenburg a great place to visit, but it is also a great place to live.  Rather than being a suburb of Phoenix.  We are a local town with all of the benefits that come from having the “small town atmosphere”.

The town amenities include parks with baseball diamonds and a swimming pool, a local museum, a local hospital, and wonderful schools.  We also have several community events throughout the year that are fun and help bring our community together.  Some of these events are the Annual Fireworks Celebration, the Fiesta Septiembre, The Spring Street Dance and of course the main celebration is the Annual Gold Rush Days which celebrates the heritage of Wickenburg.

If you are an outdoors enthusiast, you’ll love the mild temperatures and the beautiful scenery that surrounds Wickenburg.  There are plenty of opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, quads and jeeps in the surrounding areas like Box Canyon and Vulture Peak.  There are an abundance of trails and historic sites to visit such as the Vulture Gold Mine and Robson’s Mining World.

Take a drive out to Wickenburg, and let me show you why I love Wickenburg!  It is not only a Great Destination, but a Great Place to Live!
