Located approximately 54 miles from the hustle and bustle of Phoenix, Wickenburg offers the quiet, peaceful atmosphere of a small Western Town, yet the convenience of being near the big city.  Founded in 1863 Wickenburg is one of the oldest towns north of Tucson, and it's history is rich with desperadoes, drought, cowboys, ranchers, farmers, miners and disasters.  Originally settlers were lured to Wickenburg for the promise of Gold.  Then later became known as the Dude Ranch Capital of Arizona.   Current visitors to the area are wooed by the clean air, uncluttered mountain views, wide open spaces for horse back riding, and the desire to escape urban life.   Wickenburg is at a slightly higher elevation than Phoenix offering beautiful Sonoran Desert and slightly cooler temperatures.

HOME BUYER'S TAX CREDIT EXTENDED!

On July 1, 2010 the National Association of Realtors announced that Congress had passed the bill extending the Home Buyers’ Tax Credit Closing Deadline. 

 

The Tax Credit Closing deadline has been extended from 6/30/2010 to 9/30/2010.  This allows additional time for Buyer’s who were under contract by 4/30/2010 to be able to complete their transactions.

What's New in Wickenburg???

 In the past year there have been some significant improvements to the downtown area.  As Wickenburg is becoming more of a "Western Tourist" destination town rather than a suburb of Phoenix or a "pass through" town on the way to Las Vegas.
 
As visitors stroll through the downtown area they can enjoy the 8 large western historic sculptures, and the 16 small ones that were recently donated to the town.  Each of these has a short narrative that explains some of the history of Wickenburg. In addition..
